Western & Southern honored Dr. Kimya Moyo with the 2008 Dr. Lawrence C. Hawkins Educator of the Year Award. Moyo teaches math at Woodward Career Technical and was chosen for her on-going commitment to her students and her innovative approach to education.

As part of the “Math & Science: Just Everyday Stuff” Campaign connected to the GE Foundation grant, CPS 4th-graders are posing questions each weekday to Meteorologist Eric Green, and a CPS student also will be highlighted each week during May as the “Student Meteorologist of the Week.” Watch WLWT, Channel 5, at about 6:45 a.m.

Camp Invention (July 14-18)
CPS is growing green and healthy schools as part of its ten-year Facilities Master Plan. CET developed a video, featuring Superintendent Rosa Blackwell and Facilities Director Mike Burson, about the benefits of these environmentally friendly buildings.

In an Education Week article titled "How Cincinnati Turned Its Schools Around," Joe Nathan describes some of CPS' significant changes and offers them as examples to other districts. He called the district's progress in boosting student achievement "historic."
